August 2015 Anticipated Releases
Hey guys, so a while ago maybe in February or the end of January, I did a 2015 Anticipated Releases. But ever since I’ve done that list, I’ve found a lot more books that I’m interested in that are also coming out in 2015! So, I’ve decided to do a monthly anticipated reading list.
Now this doesn’t mean I’m going to be reading these books as soon as they come out, because I already have so many books to read! I may or may not to be able to read these books in those months! :D
So these are the books I want to read for his month:
Court of Fives by Kate Elliott
hardcover: 448 pages
releasing August 18th, 2015 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
In this imaginative escape into an enthralling new world, World Fantasy Award finalist Kate Elliott begins a new trilogy with her debut young adult novel, weaving an epic story of a girl struggling to do what she loves in a society suffocated by rules of class and privilege.
Jessamy's life is a balance between acting like an upper class Patron and dreaming of the freedom of the Commoners. But at night she can be whomever she wants when she sneaks out to train for The Fives, an intricate, multi-level athletic competition that offers a chance for glory to the kingdom's best competitors. Then Jes meets Kalliarkos, and an unlikely friendship between a girl of mixed race and a Patron boy causes heads to turn. When a scheming lord tears Jes's family apart, she'll have to test Kal's loyalty and risk the vengeance of a powerful clan to save her mother and sisters from certain death.
I am so excited for this book because I personally love books about rebellion and government issues, I don't specifically mean like dystopian novels, but anything with a little rebellion!
Also, the synopsis gives me a Hunger Games kind of feel (I know it's not the same, I just got the vibe) so I'm really looking forward to this one!
Another Day by David Levithan
hardcover: 300 pages
releasing August 25th, 2015 by Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers
The eagerly anticipated companion to David Levithan’s New York Times bestseller Every Day
In this enthralling companion to his New York Times bestseller Every Day, David Levithan (co-author of Will Grayson, Will Grayson with John Green) tells Rhiannon’s side of the story as she seeks to discover the truth about love and how it can change you.
Every day is the same for Rhiannon. She has accepted her life, convinced herself that she deserves her distant, temperamental boyfriend, Justin, even established guidelines by which to live: Don’t be too needy. Avoid upsetting him. Never get your hopes up.
Until the morning everything changes. Justin seems to see her, to want to be with her for the first time, and they share a perfect day—a perfect day Justin doesn’t remember the next morning. Confused, depressed, and desperate for another day as great as that one, Rhiannon starts questioning everything. Then, one day, a stranger tells her that the Justin she spent that day with, the one who made her feel like a real person . . . wasn’t Justin at all.
I've been looking forward to reading Every Day for a really long time! I may or may not read that book this month, depending on my reading pile. Otherwise the goal is to read the first one before this book comes out!
I haven't really checked out David Levithan's other works and I'm really sure where to start, so I've decided to read his duology instead.
And that's it for this month! Only two releases, so I'm looking forward to that! Let me know some books you guys are looking forward this August! Thanks for reading this post everyone and hope you all have a great day!
