A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses #1) by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J. Maas

I’m really glad I read this book in the time that I did. Because this book has everything that I look for in a really good book. A creepy world with intricate characters and an interestingly complex storyline.

I love Sarah J. Maas. The beginning of this book was hard for me to get through, just because I didn’t like Feyre at first. But, once I understood her voice and character, it was like the easiest thing for me to fly through.

Basically our main character Feyre is an iced-heart huntress who has to feed her family. She’s bound by a promise to her mother to keep her family together, no matter how much she hates it. Eventually, this bitterness that she has causes her to kill an actual fae in the form of a wolf. And, because she does this, a High Lord Faerie known as Tamlin comes for her to take her away to stay in his court for the rest of her life.

If any of you are reading this book, and at a point find it hard to get through, I urge you to continue reading, just because once you start to put the loose ends together, this book gets so good. I loved all the characters and the plot pacing!

I think you start to see how this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling later on towards the end (haha) because that’s when I was like, OHHHH.

I think my favorite characters are Rhysand and Lucien. I love them both equally! :D

Overall, A Court of Thorns and Roses is a great book that you should pick up if you’re in the mood for something slightly complex. :D I loved the ending, but it’s also made me much more nervous for the next few books in this series, because I don’t know where it might head now! :D
