Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles) - Marissa Meyer

“They're the first crew I've ever had and most of them even call me Captain. I'm going to miss them.”

Yeah, I’m going to miss them all, too.

WARNING: If you are looking for a proper review, you will NOT find it here! This is just a bunch of incoherent ramblings from a girl in fangirl mode. Don’t read unless you are a serious fan of the Lunar Chronicles otherwise you might not understand my rambling.

This book is 800 pages. I managed to finish this in 2 days. That should tell you something . . . (like, how AMAZING this book is?!)

This book is amazing, just so you know. If you love The Lunar Chronicles, this one will NOT be a disappointing ending! :D

First of all, I just want to say that I LOVED THIS ENTIRE BOOK SO MUCH. I never had any problems, I never felt that this book dragged out, and it was just. Amazing. Like, the ENTIRE team is so unique and special and the way they all get to know one another is just amazing! I wanted to cry at the end, because I couldn’t believe that this book is over.

“Hold these wires and make sure they don't touch.”

“What happens if they touch?”

“The ship will probably self-destruct.”

I think that every character has grown and in Winter (maybe even a bit before that) I have a full understanding of each character. The story makes sense, and Marissa Meyer is not afraid to make our characters go through different situations! I admire her for making me frustrated and then happy again in seconds. :D

I just wanted to point out that I love Kai. He is so ADORABLE and amazing. But then I love Iko as well! I can’t choose.

Oh, and Winter is AMAZING, just so you know. I loved reading about Winter from Jacin’s and Scarlet’s point of view because it showed how people saw traits of Winter. I think she’s the best addition to this book.

“They are going to laugh at you and mock you and then they are going to—”

“Eat me. Yes. I understand.”

“You don’t seem to be grasping the meaning behind the words. This isn’t a metaphor. I’m talking about huge teeth and digestive systems.”

“Fat and bones and marrow and meat,” Winter sang. “We only wanted a snack to eat.”

Scarlet grunted. “You can be so disturbing.”

Like, go read this NOW.

The rest of the review is a bunch of spoilers, cause, yeah.

I just wanted to point out that the entire gang (Cinder-Thorne-Scarlet-Wolf-Cress-Kai-Jacin-Winter) was actually never really “together” in a sense. They all were separated around certain points in the book. But, it was great when they all came together in the end.

Another thing I liked was how Marissa Meyer kind of made our characters go through a lot. I mean, I know that sounds weird but it made the story unpredictable because literally anything could happen! Especially the parts where Kai had to end up marrying Levana, Levana becomes empress, Winter eats Levana’s apple (damn it, I KNEW this was going to happen!), and Wolf being taken under control again.

But our characters got past it, so that was great!

Another thing I liked was the changed that Cinder made to Luna. Although they have yet to come into effect yet, Marissa Meyer is a genius for wrapping things up, and this is one of them. There’s a way to stop humans from being glamored and all that jazz. Also, Cinder might not stay the Queen of Luna! Which sounds exactly like Cinder.
